Editorial Policy

Every article in the Advice Hub is written and published in house, and carries the byline Discreet Careers Team. That is not a placeholder for a named author — it means the article is the platform’s own position rather than one person’s opinion.

We are a recruitment platform, not a legal, financial or medical adviser. Our guides draw on what we see across the roles advertised here and on published UK guidance, and they are written to help you ask better questions — not to replace advice from someone qualified to give it.

Several guides quote pay ranges. Those figures are indicative, and they are built from two things: the pay stated on roles actually advertised on Discreet Careers, and what employers tell us they pay when their listings are reviewed.

• Reviewed as the listings on the site change
• Shown alongside a notice on every guide that quotes money
• Always secondary to the pay stated on the individual listing

Most adult-industry work is self-employed. Tax, National Insurance and expenses come out of any figure we show, and nothing on this site is a guarantee of earnings.

We check employer accounts before they can post, and we read every listing before it goes live. Those checks reduce risk. They do not remove it, and we do not write as though they do.

• We do not say a verified employer is a safe employer
• We do not promise that any role is risk-free
• We do not guarantee applications, bookings or earnings
• We do not present our checks as a background or criminal-record check

Our verification badge states the date the check was completed and what it covers. If a guide ever reads as a stronger promise than that, treat the badge wording as correct and tell us about the guide.

We use AI tools to help draft, structure and edit content. No article is published straight from a generated draft: a person reviews every guide before it goes live and is responsible for what it says.

We do not use AI to invent pay figures, employer details, testimonials or statistics. Where we cannot support a number, we do not publish one.

Guides are updated when the roles on the site change, when guidance we rely on changes, or when a reader tells us something is out of date. Legal and tax rules change; a guide that was accurate last year may not be accurate now.

Each article shows when it was last updated. If a guide contradicts a job listing, current HMRC or Acas guidance, or advice from a qualified professional, follow those and let us know.

If something we have published is wrong, we want to fix it. Email [email protected] with the page and what you believe is incorrect.

• We check every correction we receive
• Factual errors are corrected as soon as we have confirmed them
• A correction that changes the meaning of a guide is noted on the article
• The last-updated date changes whenever the content does

We do not remove criticism, and we do not edit a guide to favour an employer. If a listing is the problem rather than a guide, use Report a Concern instead.

Employers cannot pay for editorial coverage. No guide, ranking or recommendation on this site is for sale, and featuring a listing does not change the verification standards applied to it.

Where we mention a connected partner, we say so on the page. Any commercial relationship that could reasonably affect how you read something will be disclosed where you read it, not buried here.
