Appeals & Suspensions
Moderation decisions are made by people, and people get things wrong. If a listing was refused, verification was declined or an account was suspended, this is how to have it looked at again.
Last updated: 10 September 2026
1. A Rejected Listing
This is the most common outcome and usually the least serious. A rejection comes back with the reason written out, and the listing stays in your dashboard.
In most cases you do not need to appeal at all. Edit the listing to address the reason and submit it again — it goes back into the queue like any other. There is no limit on resubmissions and a rejection does not count against your account.
Appeal instead when you think the reason does not apply — for example, the location was flagged as inaccurate but the role genuinely is based where you said.
2. Verification Declined
Verification can be declined because a document did not show what it needed to, because the business could not be matched to a public record, or because we could not confirm you are entitled to recruit for the organisation named.
Most declines are an evidence problem rather than a judgement about you. Sending a clearer document, or a different one that shows the same fact, resolves the majority of them.
3. A Suspended Account
Suspension is the serious one. It takes the account’s live listings down immediately, which is why we only use it where candidates could be harmed by leaving them up.
- Repeatedly posting content the standards prohibit
- Advertising roles for an organisation you cannot show authority over
- Misstating pay, location or the nature of a role
- Asking a candidate for money at any stage
- Using candidate contact details for anything other than the application
You will be told which of these applies. A suspension can be lifted — appeal using the route below, and tell us what has changed.
4. How To Appeal
Email [email protected] with “Appeal” in the subject line. There is no form to fill in.
- The account email, and the listing title or URL if it is about a listing
- The reason you were given, quoted from the message you received
- What you believe is wrong about it, in your own words
- Anything that supports your case — a document, a link, a correction
A different person reviews an appeal from the one who made the original decision, wherever the team makes that possible.
5. What Happens Next
We aim to reply to an appeal within two working days. Appeals about a suspended account are looked at first, because that is the decision doing the most damage while it stands.
We will tell you the outcome and the reason for it. If the original decision is overturned, listings go back up and the account returns to normal — a reversed suspension leaves no mark.
This is a support process, not a legal one, and it does not affect any rights you have under your contract with us or in law.
6. If You Disagree With The Outcome
Reply to the appeal decision and say why. A second appeal on the same facts will normally be declined, but new evidence or a genuine change in circumstances is always worth sending.
7. Closing The Account Yourself
You can close an employer account at any time, including while an appeal is open. Closing it withdraws your live listings.
Applications candidates have already sent you are their records too, so what happens to that data is covered by our Privacy Policy.
